Are Oil Companies the Villain?

President Obama spends an awful lot of time vilifying the oil industry. He repeatedly tells us that you either stand with the oil companies or you stand with the American people. He just told the press that “last year, the three biggest U.S. oil companies took home more than $80 billion in profits.” Barack Obama [...]

Presidential April Fool’s Joke?

Barack Obama said a few things that seemed a bit strange this weekend.  At first glance, the statements seem backwards and upside-down.  Barack Obama had some unique insight into lowering gasoline cost.  However, in the proper context, they make perfect sense.  It’s April Fool’s Day! Alright, the President addressed the media from the rose garden [...]

What wrong with Obamacare?

What’s not wrong with Obamacare?  Any honest and serious study of the Affordable Health Care Act will lead to the obvious conclusion that the individual mandate is unconstitutional and it is certainally not affordable.  As the debate finished the second day of deliberation in the U.S. Supreme Court, it seems clear the justices also think [...]

Did You Vote?

The Republican primary was held in Illinois yesterday, with Mitt Romney winning by a landslide.  Contrary to what was reported at Yahoo! News by Chris Moody, more than one Republican in Chicago voted in the primary.  Illinois has voted Democrat in the last five Presidential elections.  Maybe that is directly related to the fact that [...]

Is Obama preparing for martial law?

Friday, the White House released President Obama’s latest Executive Order.  This basically gives the President dictatorial power over America, even in time of peace.  So, in the event of an economic collapse, Barack Obama would become absolute ruler of the America.  This is pretty frightening, especially with Leon Panetta telling Congress that they are merely [...]

So, why does the FED have near zero interest rates if the economy is improving?

At the latest Federal Reserve board meeting, the consensus is that the U.S. economy is improving (HUH?) and interest rates will remain at record lows.  Well, that makes sense-banks are loaning money to individuals at low levels too, between 4-5%.  The Federal Reserve must be loaning money to central banks at a similar rate, right?  [...]
